Wooden Troita (Crucifix)

This troita stands along the road on the edge of Berbesti. It was carved more the 300 years ago. Travelers would pray at the cross or cross themselves as they pass (many still do) to ensure a safe journey.

There are four mourning figures and symbolic figures of the sun and moon. The weathering of the wood give it a haunting appearance reminiscent of a black and white negative.
